Moving house is the largest logistical exercise most people undertake without a project manager. There is a truck to fill, a stairwell to negotiate, a sofa that has to come apart, and a deadline set by two sets of solicitors. Our home shifting service exists to take all of that off you, and to make the day itself uneventful.
We start with a survey — in person, or over a video call if that is easier. A surveyor walks the property with you, counts what is moving, measures anything that looks tight, and asks the questions that decide the crew size: is there a elevator, is there parking, is the piano staying. That survey is what turns an estimate into a fixed price.
Our home shifting process
Every move follows the same five steps, which is why the day tends to be dull in the best sense.
- A customized moving plan. We agree the date, the crew size and the order of the load, and put it in writing.
- A pre-move consultation. A week out, we confirm access at both ends, parking permits, and anything that needs specialist handling.
- Packing and labeling. Boxes are labeled by room and by priority, so that the kettle is not in the last one off the truck.
- Safe transportation. Furniture is blanket-wrapped, mattresses are bagged, and the load is strapped in tiers rather than stacked.
- Unpacking and setup. Beds are rebuilt, wardrobes are reassembled, and packing waste leaves with us.
The point of a good move is that nothing memorable happens. If you can tell a story about it afterwards, something went wrong.
Flexible plans
Not everyone wants the same thing. Some customers want the whole job done for them; others want two people and a truck for four hours and will do the rest themselves. Both are bookable, and the difference in price is transparent.
We also work weekends and evenings at no premium, which matters when an elevator has to be booked through a building manager.
